Piercing Troubleshooting
Important Piercing Care Guidelines:

Medical Attention:
If you experience any issues with your piercing, seek medical attention immediately and notify your piercer. We are not medical professionals and cannot diagnose skin trauma.

Handling:
Once installed, piercings must not be touched, bumped, or moved in any way.

Common Issues & Actions:
-
Delayed Bleeding from Movement – This requires medical attention. While waiting to be seen, apply gentle pressure with clean gauze or a paper towel for 15 minutes at a time. Do not remove the jewelry unless advised by a medical professional.
-
Embedded Backing Disc – This requires medical attention. Do not attempt to force the jewelry through the skin.
-
Loose or Detached Internally Threaded Top – Wash your hands before attempting to reattach. If you cannot gently set the top onto the post and turn it to the right until secure within a few minutes, set it aside and wait for your piercer’s assistance. The post will usually remain secure during healing as long as you are cautious. Remember: a fresh piercing should not be touched, pulled, or handled unnecessarily.
-
Signs of Possible Infection:
Seek medical attention right away if you experience: -
Increasing redness, swelling, or warmth around the piercing site
-
Thick yellow or green discharge
-
Severe pain or throbbing that worsens over time
-
Red streaks extending from the piercing
-
Fever or chills
